Mr Peter Lavery has been involved in military policing and security for 36 years, having completed 22 years-service with the Royal Military Police of which 13 years had been on operational service, undertaking close protection, investigations, intelligence, and counter terrorism roles. Since retiring from the Army, he has undertaken several security and resilience-based roles in corporate businesses within critical national infrastructure (CNI), including 5 years as the security and business continuity lead for De La Rue International producing UK sterling from within the Bank of England. He currently works as the (EMEA) Head of Security and Operational Resilience for Cushman and Wakefield one of the largest commercial real estate companies in the world.
Peter undertakes several pro-bono appointments, including as Deputy Chair of the business sector panel within the London Resilience Forum (LRF), supporting emergency response in London. He is a Trustee of the cross-sector safety and security communications (CSSC) charity established prior to the 2012 Olympics to provide fast, accurate and authoritive communications to businesses throughout the UK. He has been a Director of the Security Institute for the last 6 years, being electing Chair of the Board of Directors from 1 Jan 2021. Peter serves on the Chartered Security Professionals Registration Authority (CSPRA) and the National Counter Terrorism Business Independent Advisory Group (CT-BIAG).
